TODAY, was officially day 90!! so ive completed one complete round of p90x3! and i am very excited.
what i liked best about the program:
1) 30 minutes is short and sweet
2)i dont have a big enough doorway for a pull up bar but i still felt like i was working with the resistance band/anchor modification
3)YOGA
4)CARDIO WITH WEIGHTS
5)Tony Horton's ridiculous sense of humor #beWeird
6)Ability to do it with friends when they wanted since there are so many days no equipment is required
7) no knee pain ( i personally had sore knees when doing insanity)
8) every workout had a modifier so I didnt have to make up shit to do when i couldnt do what the advanced people were doing
what i noticed about my body from the program:
1) my BUTT!! i finally have one! not only do i have one, i can move my butt muscles (iive never been able to do that in life) and when i am engaged in a workout and feel it- it is HARD AS A ROCK!
2) my thighs. also much harder even when theyre not engaged.
3) i have a little cut in my shoulder muscle :-D
4) i went from being able to only do 5 REAL pushups to being able to do 17 before my arms are shaking too much to continue without a break lol
5)by the end i was able to reach to the outside of my foot in many of the yoga poses- tony says that is not for beginners (i consider myself a yoga beginner)
6)my arms shrunk a half inch each
Now there is some shitty news about my progress i need to share as well. within weeks of beginning p90x3 i also had a change in birth control. my hormones are all out of wack and i am craving sugar and crap like never before, and ive given in more times than i should have. between the hormonal changes and binging appx once a week, i have GAINED weight. my measurements were actually really good though. i lost a little in each arm but the rest of me stayed the same, with the exception of my stomach which is an inch and a half bigger. had i not been doing p90x3 i am afriad of how much i couldve gained!
the gyno says it can be months before my body evens out and gets back to normal but i am not really trying to just sit around and wait for it to happen. so i am in full out diet mode again! honestly, i spent about 18 months in full on diet mode and i am much more comfortable there. i really have a hard time trying to maintain. i dont know how to have a little of something or indulge here and there. i have a little and i feel like im overpowered by my desire for more and my senses go out the window until theres no more left! i kind of had a dream of getting in the 130s on my own before i get surgery (lord willing i do this summer!) so i need to buckle down. i actually got a book written by a Dr who ive seen in a few documentaries- Dr. Neal Barnard. Its called Breaking the Food Seduction. its about the addictive properties in foods and how to overcome them naturally with eating choices. im only like 50 pages in, but i am liking it and i hope its going to help me cut my desires. it really helps me understand them and understand its not a matter of just "willpower". ive heard that before but the way he explains it is excellent. if youre struggling through food addiction, even though i am early on, i think i would recommend the book. i got it cheap on amazon. it even comes with an eating plan to start you off. heres a great lecure he gave, based off of the book ( i saw this and thats why i bought it)
Check it out!
