Last time i posted I was saying how i had been sick and i was feeling much better. FALSE ALARM! holy shit, i ended up feeling much worse very soon after. i fell asleep and woke up dripping in sweat and belly gurgling like crazy. my friend kelly came over with ginger ale, ginger is supposed to help an upset stomach. my mom always gave us flat ginger ale when we were puking a kids and it always worked. she also brought chex mix that i could pick the pretzels out of and like some crunchy sesame breadstick things. i drank some ginger ale and ate some pretzels and was feeling pretty good for about 30 minutes. then i started feeling like i was going to puke. i had diarrhea again and it wasnt even "poop" it was like pee. almost odorless and almost clear. (come on, you didnt think i was really not going to talk about poop for once in my life on this blog, right?! lol) i was laying on the bathroom floor because it was cold and i was so hot and i was a little dizzy and my stomach hurt soooo bad. kelly suggested i went to the hospital, but i didnt want to go to the damn hospital over a belly ache! she stayed with me another hour or so. i had consumed about 16oz of liquid throughout day, along with 8 saltines, a bread stick, and a handful of pretzels. i was a little worried i wasnt getting enough liquid but every time i put something in me, i got so sick really soon after, so i was not really putting much in. i was feeling like i could go to bed and i wasnt dizzy anymore, so i did.
i puked and "pooped" at least twice during the night that i remember. next thing i know, im waking up on the bathroom floor, my face is in vomit and my backside ive clearly gone to the bathroom as well. i dont even remember getting on the floor, or being so barbaric that i would shit myself and sleep in it, so i think its safe to say i passed out at some point. i found my phone and called kellys mom, the only person i knew would be awake at that hour, and she came and brought me to the hospital. i was really struggling with it because ive gone 6.5 months without taking a single pill for pain or a cold or antibiotic and ive been healthy as a horse. i didnt know wtf the doctor would do to me. i knew i could turn down treatment but why go to the hospital if youre not going to let them do what they think will help. so i went.
my diagnosis was colitis, which means inflamed intestines, and can be from 10,000 things lol. it basically means i either ate, drank, or touched a something and put it in my mouth and now its in my belly. great news is i had no blood in my stool so it was deff not a big deal. if its persistent it can be a sign of crohns disease- but this never happens to me so i am not worried about that. the doctor said i did the right thing by going though because my blood and urine(which was dark as FUCK!) both showed signs of dehydration. they gave me an IV with nausea meds and fluid and a pill for diarea. i had to get up to use the bathroom sooo many times in the beginning i was getting mad. my IV wasnt on a pole so i had to hold it and all the tubes with the same arm that the damn needle was in (it wasnt in my hand, it was like i was giving blood) and i was in the ER so i had to run down the hall every time i had to go. so annoying. it was crazy though because within an hour of getting the IV i was feeling better and better. i finally fell asleep and it seemed like 1 second later the nurse was waking me up to go home. i was 20 blocks from my apartment so i actually considered walking. i was feeling guilty about the lack of exercise the past 2 days... my concern wasnt that i would pass out, i felt good. it was that i would need to use the bathroom and be screwed lol so i called a cab and when i got home i went and filled my scripts. the dr put me on a BRAT diet- banana, rice, apple sauce, toast. he said those foods back people up and theyd help solidify my stool... ill make a note of that.
that night and the next day i did nothing but sleep and i only ate what was on my list. i didnt puke again and i did had diarrhea but no major stomach pain and no sweats or anything crazy. the dr gave me a note to stay out of work until monday, but i had no intention of doing that. i had already missed a ton of appointments and friday & sat i had to film at the thick salon for our potential reality show. no way i was going to miss that over some belly ache!
filming went really good. i ate super light (toast, banana, apple, shakeology, granola) so i wouldnt be running to the bathroom all day. when i got home late friday night i was craving fresh vegetables SO badly. i made a big huge salad, took one bite, and it was gross. my taste buds were deff not back to normal yet and it was a fail. saturday i ate the same things and saturday night i felt so normal and i was so hungry i went out to eat with a co-worker and i ATE. i had a gardein philly cheese steak (no cheese) and fries and pretzel bites to share. i had no belly ache and i enjoyed it. i deff pooped when i got home lol.
i had a story i meant to share last week but forgot to. i had to get a bone density test to continue my birth control (thats one chemical ill keep) and it was really weird. the lady was super nice but she was telling me how her day was so crazy and she was so glad to finally have a normal patient. she told me how the last lady was just so big she barely fit on the bed and the machine wouldnt go over her. i said "wow" because i had no idea what to say. it was so awkward. i was laying there getting scanned thinking she would nottttt have said that to my almost 300lbs self... awkward!!!
so today i wanted to have a lazy sunday. i had enough food because i didnt eat anything i bought last week, so i didnt have to go to the farmers market. i didnt want to cook and was craving whole foods buffet lol. i got the most delicious mess of food ever. ok, babylonian treasure salad- which is like all these little grains and nuts and dried cranberries, its kind of sweet. fried platains. brooklyn health salad- cabbage, red peppers, onions, in vinegar and sweetener. boiled yuca & onion. garlicky kale- garlic and tahini dressed raw kale. asian quinoa slaw- qunioa and coleslaw mix- i thought it would be gingery but it tastd like cilantro- that was a no go. edamame salad- edamame with corn and onions and white whine and cherry tomatos. garlic tofu, bbq tofu and bbq seitan. god it was delicious. and SO nutritious. and $17. but i dipped into it all day, and just finished it was 6:30pm. i also had a vegan bavarian creme donut- but that was because its lazy sunday lol even so my jawbone UP app only estimates i ate less than 1000 calories, so it wasnt a bad choice. besides, ive decided to do the 3 day shakeology cleanse FOR REAL starting tomorrow to jump start getting back into the routine of going to the gym and eating right. after all, i havent eaten correctly or worked out since monday and its sunday lol i am excited. this will still be a modified version of the cleanse, because i dont eat chicken, but ill be doing it as instructed in the link in my post about the last 3 day cleanse.
