About a month ago i did a very modified 3 day Shakeology cleanse. I made all my shakes as a recipe rather than with ice & water- because I only had strawberry shakeo and I don't really love that flavor. I did the whole 3 days and lost like 4lbs and said I'd try again when I got chocolate back.
So I started again on Monday. Monday I did great. Tuesday was ok. Tuesday night I fell off the wagon, and decided against continuing Wednesday.
Part of me feels like a failure, because I quit. The other part of me doesn't really care.... I REALLY hate not eating. As much as I love Shakeology, I also like food. It's funny because there are plenty of days I am craving a shake for 3 meals and have to talk myself out of if. But when I'm TRYING to only drink shakes, I suck at it and all I can think about is food. For some people this is awesome, but I've never been able to follow a diet that tells me exactly what to do. Some people love the spark people & team beach body features that give you an exact meal plan. I do not. It makes me feel restricted. I need freedom or I fail, and that's what happened here.
I know damn well I CAN do it. I chose not to finish. Another factor is that I don't really have a reason to do it. If you have a bad diet, the cleanse can take 6-10lbs off of you in 3 days. It also kick starts your body to be prepared for clean eating. I already eat clean, so I lose minimal weight. My body is already prepared for clean eating... So it was really hard for me to make the choice to do it anyway, when there's no reason for me to be doing it. I lost less than .5lbs the first day. Beach body warns this cleanse is not intended to cause weight loss and not everyone will lose (you're still eating between 800 & 1000 calories) and I am one of those people. So I can only eat 1 salad a day, I'm barely going to lose weight, and my body is already prepped for clean eating. So incentive to continue depriving myself. So I quit.if you're interested in the cleanse I suggest scrolling back 3 weeks ago & reading my original post for details. Here's what I ate when I WAS on track:
