it is not easy for me to explain stretches (or workouts for that matter) in writing, so i decided to make a visual. i had wanted to give my friend Breanne (who ill be running my 2nd half marathon with!) some tips- but it makes more sense to share these tips with the WORLD!
some of my stretches/techniques were taught to me by the amazing Cyndee Krantz- sports physiologist/trainer/superwoman. some i picked up in my p90x and insanity DVDs, and some are just stretches i read about or tried after seeing on the internet.
this is my personal "go-to" routine for stretching! i try to do it at least every other day, but when i am actually training for a race (like now) i aim for every day.
please take this as advice from a friend. although it works wonderfully for me, i am not a doctor, trainer, sports therapist, or anything like that so I cannot ensure this is the best for everyone.... however, more likely than not, if a stretch causes you discomfort it means you need to stretch MORE, not quit!
